Eveline joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2020 as a Claims Handler, where she primarily focuses on cargo and cargo liability claims. She rose to the position of Claims Manager. Eveline started her career editing foreign survey reports at a survey company before moving into marine claims handling, after which she went into insurance at a logistic service provider.
Eveline holds a Master’s degree in translation for Polish and English. She also completed an advanced master’s programme in Transport Law from the University of Antwerp.
Lien joined MSIG Specialty Marine in early 2025 and is part of the Claims team in Antwerp.
Lien holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Law from the University of Leuven. She then completed an additional LL.M in Maritime and Transport Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Ellen joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as a Claims Handler. At MSIG Specialty Marine she deals with a variety of claims such as hull (inland/ocean), cargo and liability.
She started her career at a marine insurance Broker in Antwerp where she learned the tricks of the trade to become a Claims Handler.
Prior to joining MSIG Specialty Marine Ellen worked as a Claims Handler at the Antwerp agency of a French shipping company.
She studied law at the University of Leuven from 2002-2007 followed by a Master in Maritime Sciences at the University of Antwerp from 2007-2008.
Ahmed joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as a Claims Manager for the Cargo team in Rotterdam.
He began his career in 2010 as a Claims Handler at Allianz. During his 14-year career at Allianz, he gained a wealth of experience in handling claims, team management and project management.
Alberto joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2020 as a Personal Injury Claims Handler. He began his career a complaints and damage manager at D&B The Facility Group, before making the switch to personal injury claims in 2019 when he joined Sedgwick. He also worked for Klaverblad Verzekeringen and the deployment agency Yer.
Alberto holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Legal Research from Utrecht University. He also holds an advisory license under the Financial Supervision Act.
Aniel joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Marine Claims Handler, specialising in Cargo, with more than 30 years in the insurance industry. He started his career in the nineties at Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen as a Claims Handler focusing on non-life insurances. After taking a sabbatical to travel the world in 2008, he took on a sales role at Allianz.
Aniel obtained his Wft-diploma, a financial advisory certification, and plans to obtain his Assurantie A Transport certificate. He is an avid polyglot and speaks 5 languages fluently.
Aschwin joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Marine Claims Handler in 2010 and now serves as a Senior Handler Specialist. Within MSIG Specialty Marine he held various positions including Senior Claims Handler Hull specialising in Land-Based Equipment, Claims Handler Transport and Claims Handler Hull.
Aschwin gained extensive experience as Claims Handler at various agencies before joining MSIG Specialty Marine.
Aschwin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics and Law from HES Rotterdam, where he specialized in banking and insurance.
Bilge joined MSIG Specialty Marine in January 2013 as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler and has held the position of P&I Claims Executive since August 2019.
Originally from Turkey, Bilge was a practicing Lawyer before moving to the Netherlands.
Bilge completed her LLM in Public Law from Galatasaray University in Istanbul in 2019, her LLM in European Law from Stockholm University in 2009, and her LLB from Galatasaray University in 2007.
Following a successful career as a Lawyer at the Antwerp Bar, Caroline decided to move to the Netherlands and began her career in the insurance industry as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler at RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine. Caroline now serves as P&I Claims Executive.
Caroline holds a Law degree and a Master’s in Maritime Sciences from Antwerp University.
Cecilia joined RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler in 2007 and has since been promoted to P&I Claims Manager.
Cecilia began her career in Sweden as a Marine Cargo and Transport Liability Claims Handler and Underwriter at a larger Swedish insurance company. She spent a year in Dubai working for a shipping law firm.
Cecilia holds a Master’s in Law from the University of Gothenburg, as well as a Master in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton. She also specialised in Maritime Law at the University of Oslo.
Following a successful 10-year career as a Maritime Lawyer at Jumelet Verhagen Advocaten, Erszi left the Bar and started her journey in the insurance industry. She joined RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler in 2013. Erszi now serves as a Senior Claims Handler.
Erszi holds a Law degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an LLM in Maritime Law from Southampton University. She subsequently added a post-doctorate in Transport Law from Grotius Academy in 2008.
Ferdi joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2007 and now serves as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Executive. He started his career working as a ship agent in the port of Rotterdam, before moving to work for shipowners in operations and chartering in the short sea (dry cargo) trade and the deep sea (gas tanker) trade.
Ferdi holds a Law degree (LLM) from the Erasmus University Rotterdam with a specialisation in Transport Law.
Frenk began his marine career as a Claims Handler at Gebr. Sluyter. Afterwards he held various management roles at brokers, insurance companies and MGA’s. Frenk joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Specialist Claims Handler for the Hull Department in 2018. Frenk has more than 30 years of experience in marine claims.
Frenk holds a Master’s in Law from the National University of Leiden, where he specialised in Corporate and Insurance Law. He added several insurance courses including Branche Transport (Ocean Hull).
Goran joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Claims Handler for the Cargo Department. He rose to the position of Senior Claims Handler.
Jan joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Claims Specialist with a focus on Cargo and Liability. He began his career as a primary school Teacher, working part-time as an Advisor at Rabobank. He then entered the insurance industry in 1987, undertaking several underwriting and claim positions.
Jan is certified by the Pedagogical Academy, NIBE-SVV and WFT, and studied Law at the Open University. Jan also took a course in Maritime Insurance at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Jannette joined Fortis Corporate Insurance, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as a Claims Specialist focusing on Ocean Hull and Builders’ Risks claims. She began her career as a Marine Claims Handler in 1993 at insurance broker Boelaars and Lambert and has more than 30 years of claims handling experience.
Jannette completed her MBO education and has also obtained Assurantie B, Assurantie A and Branche Transport certifications.
Kristel joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Senior Claims Handler specialising in Protection and Indemnity (P&I) claims. She started her career as a Legal Advisor at an international trading and chartering company.
Kristel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Maritime and Transport Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Melissa joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2021 as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler. She rose to the position of Senior Claims Handler.
Originally from Greece, Melissa is a qualified Lawyer and has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2018. In 2019, she moved to London to continue her legal training at the Stephenson Hardwood LLP, where she gained experience in marine and international trade.
Melissa completed her LLB at the Democritus University of Thrace, in Greece in 2016, and holds a Master’s in Maritime Law with Distinction from the University of Southampton where she also received a Dean’s list award for exceptional performance.
Micheretty joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Claims Assistant in 2019, progressing to a Claims Handler in 2023. She started her career in client support at Aon Risk Solutions in 1999 and worked there for 18 years before moving into claims handling.
Micheretty completed her MBO Education at Baronie College, specialising in Banking and Insurance.
Raoul joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2009 as an Assistant Claims Handler for Marine. Since 2019, he has served as a Senior Claims Handler for Marine. He is responsible for a wide array of claims, from Liability to Ocean Hull, but specialises in Personal Injury.
Raoul started his career as a Contractor for Fortis Bank in 2006, before moving into Business Consultancy at Profource.
Raoul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics and Law from the Hogeschool Inholland. He also holds several insurance-related certifications from NIBE-SVV.
Roeland joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2015 as a Claims Handler and since his promotion in 2022, has served as Cargo and Operations Claims Manager. Throughout his time in the business, Roeland has gained a wealth of experience – in 2016, he spent four months on secondment handling cargo and specie claims in MSIG Specialty Marine’s London offices.
Roeland started his career as an Insurance Broker with Marsh Netherlands.
Roeland holds a Master’s degree in Maritime & Transport Law of the Erasmus University and also studied in Brazil at the Law Faculty of the University of São Paulo.
Sander joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Claims Executive in 2017, rising to become the Regional Hull Claims Manager in 2018. He started his career as a Transport Lawyer at Van Traa Advocaten, where he worked for more than 12 years and specialised in maritime law.
Sander holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Amsterdam. He focused on transport law, intellectual property, and sports law.
Sjoerd began his career at RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as a Claims Handler in 2006. In 2019, he became responsible for the global P&I claims handling strategy for MSIG Specialty Marine.
Sjoerd holds a Master’s degree in International Civil Law from the University of Amsterdam, where he specialised in transport law.
Vany joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Senior Claims Handler in 2022, where she specialises in personal injury claims. She started her career as a Claims Handler Trainee at the Van Ameyde Group in 2014, obtaining personal injury claims experience at DEKRA Claims, SRB Rasenberg, and HDI Global.
Vany holds two Master’s degrees from Radboud University – one in Civil Law and the other in European Business Law.
Audrey joined RaetsAsia in 2014 as a Claims Handler. She assists the Director in managing the Claims department.
She started her career as a lawyer in a shipping law firm in Malaysia. Prior to her current role, Audrey served as a Business Development Manager and supported businesses within the Asia Pacific region.
Audrey obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Hull (UK). She was admitted to the Bar in Malaysia.
Briana joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as a Claims Handler. She assists in all types of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
Prior to joining MSIG Specialty Marine, Briana was admitted to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor and worked as a Legal Associate in a boutique law firm specialising in shipping and admiralty litigation.
Briana graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma with Merit in Maritime Business and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore.
Luchen joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Claims Handler. He rose to the position of Senior Claims Handler. Luchen is familiar with all types of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
Before joining MSIG Specialty Marine, Luchen worked as a lawyer in Singapore specializing in commercial disputes and shipping litigation.
Luchen graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B and was thereafter admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore in 2020.
Juliana joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as a Claims Handler at our Singapore office. She assists with a wide range of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
Originally from Indonesia, Juliana brings extensive experience and knowledge of the Indonesian market. She is primarily involved in handling claims related to Indonesia.
Juliana holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Management Science from Simon Fraser University, Canada.
Lyn joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Claims Executive in 2022. Lyn assists in all types of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
He began his career in the shipping industry in 2007. Before joining MS, he had over 10 years of working experience with a P&I Club in South Korea. Lyn's predominant area of specialisation is in P&I and FD&D claims.
He graduated from Sungkyunkwan University (Seoul, South Korea) with a Bachelor of Laws degree. Lyn holds an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton. Subsequently, he went on to complete the course for a Graduate Diploma in Law in the UK.
Olivia joined MSIG Specialty Marine in April 2022 as a Claims Handler. She handles all types of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
Prior to joining us, Olivia worked in local shipping law firms as well as major insurance broking firms.
She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore and was thereafter called to the Singapore Bar.
Sumin joined MS in 2022 as a Claims Handler. She assists in all types of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
Prior to joining us, Sumin had completed various internships in several shipping-related companies and gained first-hand experience in the maritime industry.
Sumin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Studies from Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
Terence joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2021 as a Claims Administrator.
He is in charge of claims administration and IT support for our Singapore claims office.
Terence graduated with a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of London.
Vivian joined MSIG Specialty Marine in January 2023 as a Claims Handler in our Singapore office. She rose to the position of Senior Claims Handler. Vivian assists in all types of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) claims.
Vivian came to us with valuable experience in the industry. She began her career in 2012 in China as a P&I correspondent for seven years, and then joined a marine insurance company to handle reinsurance claims in 2019. Before joining MSIG Specialty Marine, she worked as a Marine Underwriter.
Vivian graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Law from Dalian Maritime University and has an LL.M (Maritime Law) from the University of Southampton.
Myriam joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Transport Claims Handler in Paris where she specialises in claims ranging from cargo to jewellery.
Myriam began her career as a Marine Claims Handler at CAN Hardy, where she worked for close to 18 years before transitioning to MSIG Specialty Marine.
Bérengère started her career as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler at RaetsMarine, before its merger with MSIG Specialty Marine. Bérengère was appointed as P&I Claims Executive for MSIG Specialty Marine in April 2021, where she is responsible for providing highly responsive, and tailored claims handling solutions, as well as general support to members and brokers.
Bérengère holds a Master of Law from the Sorbonne University in Paris, with a specialisation in International Law. She also holds a Master II in Maritime Law with Honours from Université Lille II.
