At MSIG Specialty Marine, we know how important it is to provide you with a seamless claims service. If an insured loss is caused by a third party, recovering this loss – where possible – is an important element of the handling of your claim. Rather than outsourcing this activity, we have our in-house Recovery Desk based in Rotterdam since 2018.

What does the Recovery Desk do?
We advise on and proactively initiate recourse actions to minimise actual payments under policies and achieve better recovery ratios for our clients at favourable rates.

Our expertise and knowledge in international trade and transport, as well as close cooperation with law firms, internal claims team and our brokers, enables us to efficiently pursue recoveries in all our maritime subclasses such as Cargo, Cargo Liability and Hull & Machinery

In recent years, we have been very successful in recovering subrogated claims as well as non-subrogated claims and have set ourselves the goal of further expanding our business in the future.

We offer our work on the basis of No Cure No Pay and apply the following favourable rates:

• Up to 50,000: 10% fee on the amount recovered
• Above EUR 50,000: 7.5% fee on the amount recovered with a minimum amount of EUR 5,000
