Dirk-Pieter joined RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, in 2011 as a Senior Underwriter, specialising in Protection and Indemnity (P&I) insurance for brown and blue water tonnage. He has since grown within the company and today serves as global Product Group Leader for P&I.
Dirk-Pieter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Management from the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
Erwin joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2019 as a Special Craft Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Lead Class Underwriter. Today, he is responsible for accepting owners P&I and Charterers’ Liability risks in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Erwin’s knowledge and expertise is in Offshore marine liability and Project marine liability risks.
He began his career as an Underwriter at Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen in 1996, before moving on to become a P&I Broker for over two decades.
Rose joined in 1993 RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as an Inland Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Underwriter. In her extensive career, she has been promoted numerous times and since 2020, she serves as the Lead Class Underwriter for Inland P&I.
Rose successfully completed the compulsory WFT courses, including A-Transport and Branche Transport at SEA and NIBE-SVV; Charterer at De Nederlandse Zeebevrachters Sociëteit en STC S&C; as well as various other courses.
Maria joined RaetsMarine in 2013, after its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, and has since been a Shipowners’ Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Underwriter.
Passionate about her career, Maria has been working in shipping and insurance industries for over 25 years. Throughout this time, she has lived and worked all over Europe, including Russia, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands.
Maria holds a Master’s degree from the Centre of Maritime Economics and Logistics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, a diploma in Shipmanagement from the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and a diploma in Shipmanagement and Logistics from the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy in St Petersburg, Russia. She is currently progressing through her P&IQ qualification.
Mariana started her career at RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as a back-office Manager. At MSIG Specialty Marine she was a Quality Controller, eventually becoming an Underwriter for the Shipowner’s Protection and Indemnity (P&I) team.
Mariana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Omid joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Charterers’ Liability Underwriter.
He began his career in shipping and was a Master Mariner with 13 years of experience sailing in diverse shipping fleets at various companies. Most recently, he was a Vessel Operator at Universal Africa Lines Netherlands and was also a Captain at IRISL Group.
Omid moved to the Netherlands in 2019, just before the global pandemic hit to pursue higher education.
Omid holds a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Science from the IRISL Maritime Training Institute and completed his Master’s in Maritime Logistics and Management from the STC Group in 2021.
Joost joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Special Craft and Charterer’s Liability Underwriter. He previously worked as an Account Manager at Thoma Groep (part of the Guardian Group FATUM Holdings).
Joost’s professional and personal motto in life is ‘learning by doing’. He has a keen interest in marine Protection and Indemnity (P&I) insurance, particularly, Special Craft portfolios and policies.
Joost holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Inholland University of Applied Sciences. He has also completed all the courses necessary for the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft). Currently he is studying for a professional qualification for the P&I industry.
Sandra joined MSIG Specialty Marine in September 2023 as an Assistant Underwriter in the Shipowners P&I team, and besides that, she is also responsible for following up on the survey agenda for the entire Shipowners P&I team.
Before joining MSIG Specialty Marine, she was a Client Coordinator at Aon in the Energy, Marine & Logistics team, dedicated to Logistics for nine years. She began her career in 1981 as an Assistant Account Manager at Credit Lyonnais Bank, later becoming ABN AMRO Bank N.V.
Sandra has obtained her HAVO and MEAO diplomas and has the necessary qualifications according to the Financial Supervision Act.
Rafiek started his career at RaetsMarine, prior to its acquisition by MSIG Specialty Marine, as an Underwriting Back-office Employee. At MSIG Specialty Marine, he is an Assistant Underwriter in the Shipowner’s Protection and Indemnity (P&I) team.
Rafiek graduated in Banking and Insurance.
Jane joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2021 as a Shipowners’ Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Underwriter.
She began her career as an Underwriter at a Mutual P&I Club, moving on to become Commercial Account Handler and Office Manager at an insurance broker.
Katie joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as a Shipowners’ P&I Underwriter. Prior to this, she spent over 12 years at British Marine on the P&I Underwriting Team.
Alexandre started his career in 2001, providing marketing support to RaetsMarine for Charterer’s Liability and P&I insurance before being promoted to an Underwriter in the team. In 2018 Alexandre left for a two-year stint at Marsh as a marine client adviser, he returned to MSIG Specialty Marine in November 2020 and is now Manager and Lead Class Underwriter for fixed premium P&I.
Alexandre holds a Master’s degree in European Law and a second Master’s degree in Maritime and Transport Law both completed at the Law University of Aix-en-Provence (France).
Jonathan recently re-joined MSIG Specialty Marine as an Underwriter for Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Charterers’ Liability claims. He is based in France but services French, Italian, Spanish and Swiss brokers. He has prior experience as a Cargo, Hull and P&I Broker at two French broking firms.
Jonathan studied Law at the University of Strasbourg and went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Insurance Law from the Université de Bordeaux. He also spent a year at Glasgow University as an Erasmus student.
Anne joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as an Underwriting Assistant in the Cargo and P&I teams.
This role marks her first position within an insurance company, following a year of experience as a broker.
Anne holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Law from the University of Nantes.
Aude joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Claims Handler in the Paris office. Aude started her career as a claims adviser for Marsh McLennan, where she worked for 7 years.
Aude holds Law and Master’s degrees in transport law and economics from Sorbonne University.
