Kristof began his career at MSIG Specialty Marine in 2010 as a Junior Underwriter. Since then, he has held various roles in underwriting and underwriting management in both Antwerp and London. He is currently the Marine Manager for the Antwerp office, responsible for the cargo and liability portfolios.
Kristof completed his Master’s degree in Law from the University of Leuven, graduating in 2009, as well as a Master’s degree in Maritime Law from the University of Antwerp in 2010. Kristof also spent time at Uppsala University as part of the Erasmus programme.
Michiel joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2015 and serves as a Senior Underwriter in the Cargo and Cargo Liability team.
He began his career at an engineering firm before moving to Fortis Corporate Insurance's Marine Division as an Administrative Assistant and later as a Junior Underwriter in Hull.
Michiel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the Karel de Grote-Hogeschool.
Joachim joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2023 as a marine underwriter, where he supports the cargo underwriting team and manages the underwriting assistance team. He started his career at Bracht Deckers & Mackelbert (BDM) as a junior cargo underwriter. He then obtained broking experience at a cargo client advisor at Belgibo, before switching back to underwriting roles at Baloise and Zurich.
Joachim holds Master’s degrees in Commercial Sciences and Maritime Sciences. He also holds a national and international license to operate road freight transport.
Shana joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Cargo, Cargo Liability, and Charterer’s Liability Underwriter in August 2022.
She began her career at Aon in Antwerp as a Marine Claims Handler before moving to Post & Co Belgium in the same role before making the switch to the underwriting department, assessing risks in logistics and ports. She was most recently Marine Manager at Concordia N.V.
Shana completed her postgraduate degree in Maritime and Transport Law at the University of Antwerp in 2017. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management at Karel de Grote University in 2014.
Patricia began her career at MSIG Specialty Marine in 1991, where she spent 22 years as a Marine Underwriter. In 2014, she joined Axa Bank as an Insurance Broker before moving to Willis Towers Watson where she spent three years as a Broker. In 2019, Patricia returned to the MSIG Specialty Marine team as a Senior Assistant Underwriter.
Patricia holds a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain (KU Leuven) and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Communications from AP Academy (Hogeschool) of Antwerp.
In 2013 – 2014, she completed a PCP attest for BOAR-insurances at Business School Vivium in Berchem.
Eveline joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2020 as a Claims Handler, where she primarily focuses on cargo and cargo liability claims. She rose to the position of Claims Manager. Eveline started her career editing foreign survey reports at a survey company before moving into marine claims handling, after which she went into insurance at a logistic service provider.
Eveline holds a Master’s degree in translation for Polish and English. She also completed an advanced master’s programme in Transport Law from the University of Antwerp.
Marc joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2018, leading the office in Hamburg as Country Manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in marine insurance, having worked in both broking and underwriting. Before joining MSIG Specialty Marine, Marc was the Head of Marine for a German insurer.
Marc holds a Master’s degree equivalent in Marine Insurance, and has completed training courses in insurance.
Anita joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Senior Underwriter in our Cargo Liability team in January 2023, following two and a half years at transport and ship insurance broker, Assekuradeur Grauerholz.
Anita began her career at Deutscher Ring (now Baloise) before moving on to Albingia (now AXA) as an Underwriter in its Claims and Cargo Liability functions. In her 35-year tenure at AXA, Anita progressed to a Senior Underwriter and recognised Team Leader.
Outside of work, Anita is a part-time lecturer at a technical college for insurance.
Anita completed her MBA in Economics from the University of Hamburg in 1985, where she specialised in insurance.
Katharina joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Cargo and Cargo Liability Underwriter in 2021.
She began her career on an apprenticeship at Lampe & Schwartze KG as a Management Assistant for insurance and finance in August 2014. During her time there, she progressed to an Account Manager for industrial insurance and later, Account Manager for Carrier’s Liability.
Whilst on her apprenticeship, Katharina also completed her part-time Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering at the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management.
Juliana joined MSIG Specialty Marine as an underwriter in May 2019.
She began her career on an apprenticeship at Aon Versicherungsmakler Deutschland GmbH where she was training to become a Management Assistant for insurance and finance. Following the successful completion of her apprenticeship, Juliana worked as a Claims Specialist.
In 2016, Juliana moved to Argentina where she worked as a Claims Handler at Barbuss in Buenos Aires, before moving to Germany where she was Business Development Manager at Barbuss in Hamburg.
Juliana has a passion for travelling and exploring new cultures. In 2018, she decided to focus on her personal development and took a break from her career to go on a world trip.
Frederic joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2022 as a Senior Underwriter specialising in cargo, liability and specie claims in the Paris office. He started his career in 1999 as a Claims Handler with Aviva, before moving to Helvetia France as a Marine Transport Underwriter specialising in Fine Art Risks.
Frederic holds a Higher National Diploma in Commercial Activity.
Mathilda joined MSIG Specialty Marine in November 2022 as a Cargo Liability and Specie Underwriter.
She began her career at DIOT SIACI as a Cargo Account Executive.
Mathilda holds a Master’s degree from the Ecole Nationale d’Assurances in Paris.
Coralie started her career at MSIG Specialty Marine as an Underwriting Assistant which has been her first experience at a direct insurance company, as well as in marine insurance. She has more than 20 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting.
Coralie obtained her Underwriting Diploma in Reinsurance from the Institut Supérieur de Réassurance.
Anne joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2024 as an Underwriting Assistant in the Cargo and P&I teams.
This role marks her first position within an insurance company, following a year of experience as a broker.
Anne holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Law from the University of Nantes.
Johan joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2013 as a Senior Underwriter in the Cargo and Commodities team. Since 2018, he has served as the Product Group Leader for Marine Cargo in Europe.
He began his career in 1994 as a Marine Underwriter and Claims Specialist at AEGON Insurance Company and before joining MSIG Specialty Marine was at RaetsMarine Insurance BV as a team coordinator for Cargo and Senior Underwriter.
Johan holds a pre-University risk management qualification, and all non-life / marine insurance degrees, as well as all life insurance degrees.
Rob joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Lead Class Underwriter for Marine Cargo in 2009.
With more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry, Rob began his career as a Marine Underwriter at Blom & van der Aa in 1988. Prior to joining MSIG Specialty Marine, Rob was a Manager in the transport team at Bruns ten Brink Assuradeuren B.V.
Rob holds a Senior General Secondary Education- and Marketing degree (NIMA) as well as all non-life insurance degrees.
Joey started his career in insurance underwriting at MSIG Specialty Marine in 2009, joining as an Underwriting Assistant on the Cargo team. In 2016, he rose to the position of Senior Underwriter for Marine Cargo. In his role, he focuses primarily on transport and mounting risks, as well as project cargo.
Joey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Rotterdam University of Applied Science. He has also obtained several Wft-diploma certifications.
Charlaine started her career at MSIG Specialty Marine as an Underwriting Assistant in the Marine Cargo team in 2011. Since then, she has been promoted to Underwriter for Marine Cargo and Commodities, where she is responsible for arranging international programs within the Marine Department.
Charlaine graduated with an LLM from the Universiteit Leiden in 2010 and gained her LLB from Leiden University. She also holds several certificates in Transport Insurance (Branche Transport, WFT PE schade zakelijk, A-Algemeen, A-Transport, A-Brand & A- Varia).
Jeroen joined MSIG Specialty Marine as a Senior Underwriter in the Cargo and Cargo Liability team in 2020. Jeroen began his career at Allianz as a Junior Marine Underwriter in 2011 and was promoted to Senior Marine Underwriter.
Jeroen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, where they majored in Logistics and Economics and minored in International Aid and Development.
Asima joined MSIG Specialty Marine in January 2023 as an Underwriter in our Marine Cargo and Cargo Liability team. She spent 16 years at Chubb European Group in Rotterdam, where she held various roles and gained extensive underwriting experience in their property, multinational accounts (all lines), environmental and marine functions.
Asima completed her Bachelor’s degree from HES in Rotterdam in Management and Economics Law with a minor in Banking and Insurance in 2004.
Irina joined MSIG Specialty Marine as an Assistant Underwriter in 2009 and is currently in the Cargo team.
Originally from Russia, Irina began her career as a Procurement and Sales Manager at a major retail chain in Jekaterinburg.
Irina obtained her Master’s degree in Economics from the Ural State University of Economics in Jekaterinburg. Irina has a thirst for knowledge and after arriving in the Netherlands, she pursued another Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics from The Hague University of Applied Science.
Throughout her career at MSIG Specialty Marine, she has gained multiple insurance-related diplomas.
Sha-iv embarked on his insurance journey in April 2015, starting as an intern at Aon in the Property & Risk Control department. Six months later, he started as a junior underwriter for Property Insurance at MSIG Specialty Marine, where he honed his skills for four years.
Eager to broaden his expertise, Sha-iv transitioned to the Dutch insurance broker VLC & Partners in 2019, delving into the world of account management. After four and a half years of gaining valuable experience, he returned to MSIG Specialty Marine in 2023, specializing in Cargo underwriting.
Sha-iv's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics and several insurance-related degrees.
Linda is an Assistant Underwriter in the Cargo team. She joined MSIG Specialty Marine in 2009 and served as an Assistant Underwriter Builder Risks.
